Chung Do Kids

Our Chung Do Kids program is specifically designed for children ages 4 to 6 years old.

This program is a great introduction to martial arts lessons at an early age, instilling the structure and discipline of a “big kids” program, but with a fun and energetic approach to teaching the Chung Do Kids Curriculum.

Beginner Class

The beginner Taekwondo lessons lay a foundation for basic techniques such as front kicks, sidekicks, proper punching and striking techniques, as well as proper stances.

Each belt level adds new skills and requirements as students continue to perfect previous techniques taught.

Our comprehensive program teaches more than just martial arts for kids by including character development, life skills training, and partnering with our parents for meeting the needs of the whole child.

For ages 7 and up - belt levels of white, yellow, gold and orange.

Intermediate Class

Our Intermediate Martial Arts Classes take the Beginner curriculum, add advanced techniques and really hone in on strengthening and perfecting technique and application.

Students will add to their martial arts resume by practicing combination skills, more enhanced point sparring and developing more self-control in their training. As the curriculum is cumulative, students must continue to perfect and practice the Beginner level forms and techniques, as they are required at each belt testing.

For ages 7 and up - belt levels of green, purple and blue.

  • Advanced Fundamentals
  • Creative One-Step Sparring
  • More enhanced Point Sparring
  • Poomse (Forms) training
  • Preparations for entering the Advanced Level of training

Advanced Class

Our Advanced Classes are the beginning levels of intense training for the Black Belt Level.

Students will begin working on school Take-downs, set Self-Defense moves and Knife Defense curriculum, as well as continuing to perfect everything learned in the Beginner and Intermediate levels. As the curriculum is cumulative, students must continue to perfect and practice the Beginner and Intermediate level forms and techniques, as they are required at each belt testing.

For Ages 7 & Up - Belt Levels of Red, Brown, and 1st Gup.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Additional Poomse (Forms) and fundamentals
  • Advanced One-Step Sparring
  • Take-downs
  • Self-Defense moves
  • Knife Defense
  • Point sparring

Black Belt Class

The Black Belt Classes work on many areas of training, including power and precision, training our black belts to become Master students, Instructors and leaders.

Upon reaching 1st Degree Black Belt, students have the opportunity to join the USCDKA nationally certified Instructors program. Not only are our 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th Degree students continuing their martial arts training through Taekwondo, but they are also developing their leadership skills. They are continually adding more self-defense moves, take-downs, knife defense, as well as weapons training.

FAQs

What does the tuition cover?

For Chung Do Kids, the tuition allows the student to attend a class once per week during the month on a specified day that will be determined at the time of registration.

For all other classes, tuition allows students to attend two classes per week.

What do students need to wear for a trial class?

The student may wear a t-shirt and sweat pants or long shorts.

Do students have to wear a uniform?

Yes, students are required to purchase a Twyman Taekwondo Academy school uniform at the time of registration.
